My health journey began when I got Pneumonia 3 times in a year back in my teens. I have always been researching health and wellness, but I didn’t really start implementing these things in my life until I wanted to get healthy physically and become a better athlete. I played a high level of Jr Hockey and knew that my performance was directly related to my mental game, nutrition and training habits. I started personal training when I was 19 and was able to help friends and hockey players gain 10-15 pounds of muscle or loose 10-20 pounds of excess body fat in a few short months. This sparked my interest into how the body works internally, which directly affects, positively or negatively, how the body will change when we do the right or wrong things for it.
In my mid 20’ from researching and studying, I was able to help my wife get off Synthroid for Hypothyroidism that she had for 10 plus years and was able to fully recover and heal from that. I’ve always had a passion for helping people and understanding the body can heal, but just didn’t know where to start. I got certified as a Master Practitioner under the International Training Institute Of Health working in Functional Medicine. Being a Functional Medicine Practitioner, I am able to help people and it brings a great reward knowing that each individual will benefit greatly when I am able to help teach them to change the way they approach each day on a mental, nutritional and physical level.
When we stop viewing conditions of the body as flaws and we start viewing them as something that is caused by deeper issues, that is when we awaken ourselves to understanding that our bodies create because of what has been done to us or what we have done to it. In Latin, Doctor means “teacher” and it’s my goal to teach each individual how to love and heal themselves, so that they can come alive and live their best life.
